In this episode we discuss challenging theological topics from Romans 8-11, including predestination, election, and God’s sovereignty. We’ll address questions about how believers can know if they are chosen, God’s love for those not elect, and why evangelism remains important if salvation is predestined. We’ll do our best to explain that faith in Jesus is the key indicator of being chosen and emphasize that God’s plan is perfect despite human limitations in understanding it. We’ll clarify the different meanings of ‘calling’ in Scripture and discuss the coexistence of God’s moral will and sovereign will, highlighting human free will as bonded to sin but enabled by God’s grace. The conversation also covers the distinct intercessory roles of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the rejection of universal reconciliation, and the church’s commitment to Reformed theology within a non-denominational framework. Throughout, we will stress humility, trust in God’s justice and mercy, and the importance of continuing to study and wrestle with these profound biblical truths.
